About the Role
A leading distribution company in the pharmaceutical sector is hiring a Senior Accounts Officer to head its Accounts Department. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in financial operations, reporting, and compliance, with the ability to lead a team and improve internal financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable/receivable: verify, allocate, post, and reconcile
- Prepare accurate accounting reports and present results
- Analyze financial data and summarize financial status
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving measures
- Support management with technical financial advice
- Enhance and maintain accounting systems and procedures
- Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers
- Contribute to goal setting and strategic planning for the department
- Produce financial statements and manage budgeting processes
- Handle tax audits, tax returns, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead internal/external audits
- Maintain documented internal controls and accounting policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional certification (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role
