The primary responsibility of this role is to drive and deliver key business strategies and planning activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive in collaborating and identifying areas for improvement, sharing insights and knowledge across operational teams to enable best practices. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for conducting post-implementation reviews to ensure changes are effectively delivering GSR’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Drive and develop a business improvement culture, mindset and passion across the mine site
- Ensure risks and issues are mitigated through effective relationships with stakeholders and provide support governance and distribution of insights to identify pain points and improvement opportunities with our clients and subcontractors.
- Use data-driven insights to advocate and implement change and improvement across process and capability, as well as identify and monitor our leading and lagging indicators to enable early identification and management of operational challenges.
- Coach, train and support site team members in the use and implementation of the GSR framework to drive business improvement.
- Work across the site to assist in the delivery of Continuous Improvement projects.
- Challenges stakeholders and teams to maximise opportunities from business improvement initiatives and support the capability enablement of these opportunities.
- Support cross-departmental teams to deliver improvement initiatives across the mine site, and present findings and recommendations with confidence to key stakeholders and senior leaders across the business.
- Facilitate workshops and provide specialist improvement advice to site teams to identify and resolve specific issues that are critically impacting business outcomes.
- Review work regularly, provide meaningful feedback, hold yourself and team members to account and recognise effort.
- Proactively build and maintain positive working relationships through teamwork and mutual respect.
- Strive for continuous improvement in work practices and foster a climate of positive change.
- Carry out all work safely and follow correct operating procedures.
- Install the Management Operating System in conjunction with area leads and oversee the utilisation and auditing of the process.
- Co-facilitate Business Improvement (BI) Learning sessions, providing coaching to area-based Change Leaders and their sponsors.
- Lead and coach problem-solving activities using different methodologies, including statistical process analysis and control.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Relevant qualifications in business, engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience as a Continuous Improvement Specialist or similar role.
- Ideally, Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt) is trained.
- Ideally, Lean Manufacturing or similar training
This is a renewable, fixed-term position. The onsite camp facilities at Wassa include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, dining halls, a sports bar convenience store, a gym and sporting facilities, a swimming pool, and a fully equipped medical centre. An attractive expatriate salary package, including a performance-based incentive and other benefits, will be offered.
